New for 2012 - FOSE offers educational opportunities for acquisition professionals and those interested in the acquisition process. These FREE sessions are designed for current and prospective acquisition professionals, government attendees who want a better understanding of the acquisition process and non-government attendees looking for an insider’s perspective on government acquisition.

AT 1-1: The New Federal IT Program Manager

In November 2011, the Office of Personnel Management published the IT Program Manager Career Guide. This new initiative will launch future related efforts including integration of the Federal Acquisition Certification – Project and Program Management (FAC-PPM) certification standards and new Federal standards for certifying IT PMs. This informational seminar discusses the most up-to-date efforts by the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) and the Department of Homeland Security toward establishing IT PM certification policy and standards.

AT 1-2: Leveraging Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts to Drive Efficiencies

The National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) conducts trainings on how to procure IT products, services and customizable solutions using CIO-SP2i and ECS III Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs).
